KEY FEATURES
Yes, the Stride would make a competent bikepacking bike. The geometry design and component choices are intended to make for a very durable value MTB, perfect for an entry into adventuring with your bicycle.
No you can not. You can however fit up to a 120mm fork on your Stride. 140mm would put too much stress on the headtube. This could lead to frame failure, and voids your warranty.
The Stride is designed as an enthusiast sport MTB platform - this translates to XC and light trails. Not designed for hard hitting trails, but general trail riding is perfect.
No, the Stride Deluxe uses QR wheels front and rear.
Does the Stride Deluxe and Stride SX use the same frame?
The two frames are made from the same material and the geometry is the same. The only differences are the welding and cable routing types. The SX frame has smooth welding in certain areas and the cable inserts sits flush with the tube profile. Both frames are equally strong and light.
Can I convert my wheels to tubeless?
Yes and No, the rims are tubeless ready. Stick on some tubeless rim tape, tubeless valves, sealant and... air. Lots of air, to seal the tyre bead onto the rim wall. You'll be riding tubeless in no time with the Speedlab tubeless kit that has everything you'll need !
Position of Power - Our take on modern MTB geometry - designed to engage bigger muscle groups when pedalling, producing more power output for the same amount of input. Longer frame places the rider forward in a more balanced position, improving grip on the rear wheel on climbs and on the front wheel on descents. A longer wheelbase, wider handlebars and slacker head angle means more control at speed.
The Stride Deluxe features a class leading alloy frame. Trickle-down technology means that the new Stride frame benefits from our leading platforms. The frame tubes are hydro-formed into complex shapes to increase strength and stiffness, minimizing weight and excess material use.
Relative short chainstays coupled with Pop geometry means that the Stride is more nimble through corners, yet retains overall stability.
Stride Deluxe is fitted with a purpose chosen 100mm air suspension fork. A suspension fork improves comfort and traction on a hardtail mountain bike.
All Stride bicycles are fitted with quality anodized alloy control parts. This means less weight, and more durability - for many happy trails. Similarly brand name components are chosen for durability and function, meaning that your Stride offers worry free ownership.
Surface alloy wheels are pre taped at the factory and are tubeless ready from the box. Easy to set up, just add sealant and inflate to seat.
All strides come with disc brakes and the Deluxe is fitted with Tektro hydraulic actuated disc brakes. Disc brakes offer dependable all weather performance and superior power over rim brakes.
Stride frames are rack, fender and internal router dropper post compatible. Easily set it up for what you need! Integrated mount for 40mm direct-mount 2-bolt kickstand
Stride Deluxe features full length cable housings that are routed internally in the frame. Since the housing is full length, cables are less prone to dirt ingress in the system, meaning less maintenance and smoother gears and better functioning gears for longer periods.
The Surface saddle that is used on the Deluxe has a zone cutout - this alleviates pirennium pressure, promoting blood flow and means more comfort over longer distances/time in the saddle.
