How to find the frame number on your Silverback bike:
- On our classic bikes the frame number is located on the bottom bracket.
- On our e-bike models the frame number is found on the left or right side near the motor.
WARRANTY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Your Silverback bike is warranted to be free from manufacturing defects for 2 years with effect from the date of sale. In addition, we provide our customers with the following warranty in the event of frame breakage outside the statutory warranty period as follows:
For all frames and rigid forks we guarantee from the date of sale from the dealer:
Aluminium – limited lifetime Guarantee*
Carbon, Alu-Carbon 2 Years Guarantee
If a break occurs during this period (from date of sale), we will replace the frame with the same or similar. This warranty applies only to the frame. The cost of components necessary for the frame's function (e.g. seat post, derailleur, handlebar and stem, suspension fork …), even where a replacement frame necessitates replacement of some or all of these components, must be borne by the customer.
EXCLUSIONS:
All frame exchanges add on parts are not included into this extended warranty. Here the 2 years limited warranty applies.
We reserve the right to withhold this service if we ascertain that the damage has been caused purposefully or it is only cosmetic damage
We reserve the right to repair defective frames or parts or to replace them with the corresponding updated model. A condition of the warranty is normal use of the bike in accordance with the manufacturer’s stipulations.
Modification work outside the statutory warranty period (2 years) is not carried out or refunded by us free of charge.
We therefore request that the customer be fully aware of this stipulation on conclusion of the sales contract in order to avoid possible misunderstandings at a later date.
Special case: carbon frame and carbon forks
We offer you a Crash Replacement Support which is intended to provide an uncomplicated and cost-saving exchange service for your frame/fork where we exchange the damaged product at special price, please email us info@speedlab.shop to get more details.
Excluded from the guarantee and warranty are all forms of damage due to improper use or use not in accordance with manufacturer stipulations (e.g. use of a standard frame as a dirt bike, fitting double crown forks, extension of suspension travel, overstressing due to jumps etc.) and all defects due to normal wear and tear. The extended warranty does not apply to the dirt bikes and carbon frames and all fitted components necessitated by a frame swap.
If requested, we will fit your new frame with components in our service department. This service is subject to a charge. We will be pleased to make you an offer for this service and will get in touch with you if required. Your bike will be returned to you as soon as your order has been cleared and processed.
Guarantee: If the item to be replaced is no longer available in the original colour, you will receive a different colour or an upgrade to the successor model.
For your own safety, please do not exceed the maximum structural weight limit/approved load limit specified for your particular model.
Through-axles and quick releases
The manufacturers' operating instructions for all makes of through-axles and quick releases fitted on our bikes can be found below.
Important information:
- Always follow the manufacturer´s instructions
- Before every ride, check that the through-axle or quick release is positioned and closed correctly
- Please contact your Silverbacks dealer if you have any questions on correct usage
It is not always possible to realise the exact weight for each bike, size and component. Our stated figures refer to the medium frame size without pedals.
Even in the same frame size, weights can vary considerably. This can be caused by variations in the thickness of frame material, longer welds, longer brake lines / shift cables / outer casings, etc...
Components can also be a cause of weight fluctuations - this applies particularly to tyres.
For each frame size you should allow for up to 250g - 300g additional weight due to these variations. We always try to publish accurate weight data. The best way to eliminate all variables and make up your own mind is to visit your local dealer and weigh your Silverback bike in the shop yourself
Silverback does not offer a repair service for carbon-frame bikes.
We advise against repairing damaged carbon. The carbon fibres may suffer extensive structural damage that is not visible to the naked eye. If in doubt, always replace carbon parts immediately.
HOW LONG IS THE WARRANTY ON SUSPENSION FORKS AND SHOCKS?
Yes.
However, all full suspension and carbon frames are excluded. Carbon frames can be seriously damaged by permanently fixing the bike on the bicycle trainer.
There are several ways to find the right derailleur hanger for your bike. You can either find the bike which you have on our website and next to each bike there is a hanger recommendation section or alternatively, you can also open the page with the hanger and see the model recommendation next to it.
Ultralight, weatherproof, 100% noiseless, thanks to crossed laying and with a clean look - these are the advantages of internally routed. If a cable change should become necessary, it can be easily done through the inspection opening on the bottom bracket.

Parts subject to wear and tear must be serviced and maintained regularly in order to ensure they work smoothly. Components subject to high loads and stresses, such as chains and bearing sets, must be replaced regularly.
Please note that parts subject to wear and tear are not covered by the standard guarantee and/or warranty.

Only brake disc rotors with the same maximum diameter as the original rotors that were mounted to that specific model, series and year are authorised. This applies to both the front and rear brakes, even if the fork manufacturer specifies compatibility with larger rotors.
All Silverback bikes are 99% assembled and adjusted. In order to ship safely, we remove certain components such as the wheels, seatpost, pedals. Once delivered, assembling your bike is a quick and simple process using the tools and instructions:
E-bikes are delivered with the battery charged to 30%.
Due to the higher weight of the frame and the force applied by the engine, some parts are subject to wear and may have to be replaced a little earlier than a traditional bike. We recommend you service your E-Bike every 6 months.
Our bikes and e-bikes go through many test processes from the idea to development and production and are developed and built exactly for their intended use. If you want to convert your speedlab.shop non-E-Bike to an E-Bike, or if you want to make basic modifications to your Canyon E-Bike, you will have to do so at your own risk. We cannot provide valid test results or empirical values for potential conversions and advise against conversions not directly specified by Canyon. Frame, fork and all other components are designed for a certain power and weight range. Therefore, unplanned modifications can lead to problems or defects

Silverback frames with a disk brake mounting are approved for the use of Rohloff hubs.

If you damage a Surface carbon wheel while riding during the lifetime of the wheel [Surface believes the reasonably expected lifetime is 10 years.
We will offer new Carbon rim at half price of the rim and repair it for free.
This Protection Care Program applies to Surface carbon wheels that are standard specification on New bikes as well as aftermarket wheel purchases. This applies to original owners only.
Program works as follows and are wheel-dependent on the extent of damage or crash.
- The rebuild of a damaged wheel (including spokes, decals, nipples, where needed) is free. We invoice you for the costs of the Rim and or if nipples/ hubs are damaged at a heavy discounted rate.

By all S-electro Diamond Trail, S-electro Diamond Stepdown, S-electro Diamond fat, S-electro Diamond Comp models please tell that the serial number of the frame is located under the black cover, one needs to unscrew 2 screws in order to take it down to see the frame number.
By S-electro Stepdown, S-electro Comp SL, S-electro Elite AL 2 (630Wh) models the frame number is located on the side of the side of the frame around the motor.

- Flip the Bike: Turn your bike upside down so that it rests on its handlebars and saddle.
- Examine the Bottom Bracket: Direct your attention to the area where the bottom bracket is situated. You'll find the serial number engraved or stamped onto the frame surface here.
FAQ Shipping
Silverback ships from Monday to Friday with the exception of public holidays. We ship complete orders only, i.e. the dispatch usually takes place as soon as all ordered items are ready for dispatch. Please contact the Silverback service team if you wish a partial delivery.
Depending on destination country, package size, volume and weight, Silverback ships with the carriers German Post, DHL, German parcel service, DPD, USP. Deliveries of bulky goods, for example complete bicycles, will be handled by selected forwarding companies.
For return shipments SPEEDLAB cooperates with German Post, DHL and DPD. Large bulky goods like bicycles will be collected by a forwarding company.
In Germany and most European countries the goods are shipped with DHL, Hermes, DPD, UPS, DVS, German Post.

FAQ Refund & Return
The Silverback Bikes team will do its best to fulfill your requests.
You have the legal right to revoke your purchase contract within 14 days without giving an explicit reason. The revocation period of 14 days starts when you or a third party other than the delivery agent accept the purchased goods. In case of multiple separate deliveries from one order, the period starts upon delivery of the last package or piece of the order.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)
- Book with obvious signs of use
- CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, video game, cassette tape, or vinyl record that has been opened
- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error

All merchandise must be returned unworn, unwashed,unused and with original tags attached to the merchandise.
After you have contacted us, you will receive a free shipping label for your return (within Germany only).
For all other EU countries, the shipping label will be offset with 8 € against the value of the returned goods. For all other countries outside EU, the returned item must be shipped at your own expense.
Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.

A return will be processed at SPEEDLAB within a few working days. Once your request has been successfully processed it will be confirmed by e-mail. A possibly necessary refund will be processed directly afterwards. Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
If your item was damaged during shipping, you are eligible for a full refund or we will issue a new product of your choice at our expense. When requesting your refund, please be ready to provide Customer Service with the order number, your name and proof of damage via a photograph when item arrived.
Possible reasons: Orders shipped separately for logistical reasons. Ordered from different warehouses: If you ordered from two different warehouses the order will have multiple shipments. If you have checked, there is still something missing. Take photos of what has arrived and email what is missing to our Customer Service via our Contact Us page, including your order number and a copy of the parcel declaration and we will work to resolve your issue promptly.
We will send you a return label, so you are able to return the part back to us. Once we have received the part, we will provide you with an invoice for the return shipping cost. Once payment is made we will fulfill your order and ship part.

Click on the Local Backup button in the browser page of the bike you like and let us know what you are wanting and what your location is. We can ship bikes internationally and will move stock from one Silverback warehouse to another in order to satisfy our committed riders.
Silverback does its best to stock bikes it knows will sell in any given location by gauging retailer response and interest beforehand at the time of launch. Sometime retailers or distributors may have a narrower interest compared to their local consumers. For this reason, bikes not immediately available in a location appear on our websites in order to generate interest-responses from consumers that can be used to show shops what consumers want, in order to plan stock and to fulfil new interests and enquiries. Stock unavailable immediately in the Global market is in most cases available from the German parent company or via co-ordinated order to coincide with the next container loads from our factories in Asia.

The most accurate way to get the weight of your bike, in your specific size is to go your local bike shop and let them weigh it for you. Weights displayed on the site are for a single size (normally a Medium bike) only.

Naturally, this depends on the frequency you use your e-bike and how you take care of it. It also depends on the battery brand your bike is fitted with. Rule of thumb is 1000 full cycled charges, that is about 45 000km at boost setting (maximum assist).
There are a couple of electric bike motors on the market that recharges when you are using the brake but this only really extends your range by 5%. Currently, none of our bikes is fitted with a recharging motor.
2 hours of charge from 0 – 80%, another 2 hours of charge from 80% – 100%.
Range is dependant on a number of factors, such as terrain and assistance level. The theoretical range can easily be calculated in time, assuming a maximum support speed of 25km/h.

Distance [km] = Speed [km/h] x Time [h]
*Assistance levels have different Power demands.
The calculated distance is mathematical, and does not take into account external factors.
It should be considered as a guide, when planning a ride.
Yes, it will be a normal bicycle once the battery is removed or switched off.
This differs depending on the brand of the drive system your bike is fitted with.
The Shimano system is sealed and has no serviceable parts.
The Bafang service light comes on every 5000km, this is generally when the system should be serviced. This service is very basic and includes things such as new grease and cleaning out the system.
Washing an e-bike requires a little bit more care than other bikes.
No high-pressure water or direct stream of water should be used on your e-bike, as both will force water into any crevasses. Using a bucket of water with a cloth is more than enough to clean.
Avoid using silicone spray / anti-corrosion spray, it may seep into some components and eventually interfere with the electronics.
*Neither the Bafang or Shimano is waterproof so don’t go swimming with your e-bike.
Lithium-Ion does not suffer from the ‘memory effect’ so charging your battery before it is flat will not affect its longevity. It is better to charge the battery after every ride regardless of whether it is depleted or not since lithium-ion batteries will last longer if not fully cycled regularly.
If you pick up any issues with your motor, display or battery, you should take it back to your dealer, the same as with any other issues. Your dealer will asses the problem and submit a warranty claim if necessary.
Sadly, the Lithium-Ion battery used on e-bikes are not allowed on an airplane. Aviation regulations state that you can not fly with a battery exceeds a capacity of over 160WH. If you are wanting to do a e-biking adventure in another country, we suggest you hire a battery form a local supplier.
