Phylion Lithium Battery Warranty
We provide warranty support for Phylion lithium batteries purchased from Silverback Bikes, subject to the terms below.
Warranty period
The battery warranty covers 24 months from the production date, measured to the date the fault is reported. The production date is encoded on the battery label. Contact us if you need help identifying it.
Commercial use, including rental, courier services, and bike-sharing, requires separately agreed warranty terms.
What is covered?
The warranty covers eligible battery faults arising during proper use and storage, subject to inspection and the exclusions below.
It also includes these minimum battery-capacity standards:
| Coverage limit — whichever comes first | Minimum capacity |
|---|---|
| 15 months from manufacture or 300 charge cycles | 80% |
| 24 months from manufacture or 500 charge cycles | 60% |
Capacity is assessed through a controlled test, rather than riding range or the battery’s charge display. Testing uses a compatible charger, a temperature of 25°C ±5°C, a rest period of at least 30 minutes after a full charge, and a discharge rate no higher than 0.5C.
Repair or replacement and associated costs
Eligible faulty batteries will be assessed for repair. If a covered battery cannot be repaired within the warranty period, the manufacturer will provide a replacement.
Service batteries may be refurbished. Refurbished batteries retain the remaining warranty period of the original battery; the warranty does not restart. Their minimum capacity must be:
-
80% for original batteries within the first 15 months.
-
60% for original batteries in months 16–24.
Warranty coverage is limited to the battery repair or replacement itself. It does not cover associated costs, including:
-
Labour to diagnose the issue or remove, install, or refit the battery.
-
Transport, postage, courier, or shipping charges, including sending the battery for assessment and returning it to you.
-
Assembly or reassembly of the bicycle or other equipment.
These associated costs are your responsibility, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise. Contact us before arranging repairs or returning a battery so we can explain the process and any applicable costs.
What is not covered?
The warranty does not cover:
-
Damage from improper use or storage, deliberate damage, dropping, or other physical damage.
-
Battery failure caused by water entering the battery.
-
Batteries dismantled without authorization.
-
Batteries charged using an incompatible charger.
-
Use with an e-bike outside the battery’s agreed technical specifications.
-
Damage caused by extended storage without the required recharging, including permanent cell damage or excessive voltage differences between cells.
Claims outside the warranty period are not covered. Capacity claims are also subject to the time and charge-cycle limits above.
