Greenway Lithium Battery Warranty
We provide warranty support for Greenway lithium batteries purchased from Silverback Bikes, subject to the terms below.
Warranty period
The manufacturer’s warranty covers 24 months from the battery’s production date. The production date is identified through the battery’s barcode or serial number. Contact us if you need help checking your warranty period.
What is covered?
The warranty covers manufacturing and quality defects that occur during normal use, when the battery has been used and maintained according to its instructions.
Examples include:
-
Internal electrical faults, including short circuits or broken connections.
-
Leakage, deformation, or casing defects caused by a manufacturing fault.
-
Battery communication failures.
-
Defective internal welds or structural faults.
-
Excessive discharge caused by an internal battery defect despite proper care and maintenance.
Water-related claims are assessed against the battery model’s specified water-resistance rating and usage instructions.
Repair or replacement and excluded costs
If inspection confirms a covered defect within the warranty period, the manufacturer will repair the battery or replace it if repair is not possible.
Warranty coverage is limited to the battery repair or replacement itself. It does not cover associated costs, including:
-
Labour to diagnose the issue or remove, install, or refit the battery.
-
Transport, postage, courier, or shipping charges, including sending the battery for assessment and returning it to you.
-
Assembly or reassembly of the bicycle or other equipment.
These associated costs are your responsibility, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise. Contact us before arranging repairs or returning a battery so we can explain the process and any applicable costs.
What is not covered?
The warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by:
-
Misuse, accidental impacts, or deliberate damage.
-
An incompatible or unapproved charger.
-
Short-circuiting the charging or discharge connections through misuse.
-
Unauthorized repairs, disassembly, or modifications.
-
Exposure to fire, excessive heat, corrosive liquids, or water beyond the battery’s specified protection level.
-
Use or storage outside the specified environmental conditions.
-
External events such as floods, lightning, earthquakes, or fire.
Batteries outside the warranty period and counterfeit batteries are not covered. Altered, missing, or damaged identification labels or security seals may affect eligibility, unless their removal was authorized by the manufacturer. The battery’s model and identification details must match its warranty records.
