FAQ's

S‑Electro is our e‑bike family built around the same Silverback principles clean handling, durable frames, and real‑world usability just with electric assistance to make hills, headwinds, and longer distances easier.

Range depends on battery size, rider weight, tyre pressure, terrain, temperature, assist level, and riding speed. In real life, it’s better to think in “range windows” rather than one number moderate assist on mixed terrain will go much farther than maximum assist in cold weather and steep climbs.

In our S‑Electro range we use proven, serviceable drive systems chosen to match the bike’s job (commuting, trekking, or performance riding). Across the lineup you’ll mainly see:

Shimano STEPS mid‑drive systems (for a very natural pedaling feel and strong hill performance)
- Example: STEPS E7000 on commuter-style models (great balance of torque, control, and reliability).
- Example: Shimano EP8 on higher-performance models (more power-focused and sporty, ideal when you want strong climbing support).

High-quality hub‑motor systems (simple, quiet, and excellent for everyday commuting)
- Example: Ananda 250W hub motor (commonly around 50Nm) paired with an internal battery for practical daily use.

Bafang performance systems on selected models/variants
- Example: Bafang M800 appears on some S‑Electro GR-related configurations/parts, typically aimed at lightweight, efficient e‑assist setups.

What I like about this mix is that it lets us choose the “right tool for the job”: Shimano mid‑drives when you want the most bike‑like feel and climbing performance, and hub‑motor setups when you want a clean, reliable commuter that’s easy to live with every day.

Yes, this is one of the best uses for e‑assist. You arrive on time, less sweaty, and hills or wind stop being a daily obstacle. Add practical tyres and the right accessories (lights, mudguards, lock) and it becomes a true everyday vehicle.

Charging time depends on the battery capacity and charger output. Most modern systems typically recharge in a few hours from empty, and even faster for “top‑ups” between rides.

S‑Electro is our curated approach to e‑bikes: model choices, geometry, and component specs selected to ride like a proper bicycle first then enhanced by assistance. “Regular e‑bike” can mean anything; S‑Electro is a clearly defined Silverback range.

Yes. The bicycle parts chain, cassette, brakes, tyres are maintained like any quality bike. The electrical system typically needs basic care: keep connectors clean, update firmware when recommended, and store/charge the battery properly.

Yes. You can pedal without assistance, but it will feel heavier than a non‑electric bike because of the motor and battery. Many riders still do short trips unassisted when they want a workout or need to conserve battery.

Because we tune the whole bike not just the motor spec. Geometry, frame stiffness, wheel strength, braking performance, and sensible component choices matter hugely on an e‑bike. I’d rather you have a balanced, reliable bike than a flashy spec sheet.
