Pedal With Purpose: The Boy Who Learned to Fly on a Silverback SESTA Pro

Sometimes, greatness begins not with podiums or perfect bikes—but with a spark.

For Robin, that spark felt like flying.

He was just seven when he first felt it—the rush of wind, the bounce of his wheels over uneven ground, the thrill of leaving gravity behind for one fleeting moment. He didn’t just ride; he lifted. Every jump, every landing, every corner whispered the same invitation—come back, try again, fly higher. That feeling—pure freedom—pulled him deeper into the worlds of MTB and BMX.

He watched older boys at the skate park, copying their tricks on his scooter, not afraid to fall, only afraid to stop. Fearless wasn’t something he learned—it was who he was.

When the Bike Found the Rider

In Estonia, kid-sized full suspension frames are almost impossible to find. But Robin and his dad didn’t believe in waiting—they believed in building. Together, they took a 2016 Silverback SESTA Pro M-size frame, a bike built for adults, and reimagined it for a determined 10-year-old who dreamed bigger than his size.

They lowered the saddle. Cut the post. Modified cockpit geometry. Tweaked and tested. It wasn’t just problem-solving—it was purpose in motion.

And the Silverback SESTA Pro was more than just a bike. It was a symbol of possibility. Known for its lightweight design, racing pedigree, and award-winning engineering—Winner of the German Design Award—it became the perfect companion for a boy who refused to give up.

Even when the rear triangle pivot loosened and forced him out of his first XCO race, Robin didn’t stop. He learned. He adapted. With the help of Silverback’s bushing kit, a carbon repair specialist, and his unwavering dad, they restored the bike stronger than before—smoother, safer, and ready for battle.

“There is always a solution,” Robin says—words that aren’t just true for bikes, but for dreams.

First Season. First Fight. First Wins.
He was smaller. Younger. Less experienced.
But he was never outmatched.

Training with older, stronger CFC Tallinn juniors, he pushed through every exhaustion point. He didn’t just keep up—he kept growing. And soon, something incredible happened.

  • Škoda MTB Wednesday Series (12 stages): 2nd Overall
His proudest moment? Stage 4—long, tough, technical—and he beat riders who had trained for years.

  • Harjumaa National Cup: 1st Place & County Champion
Mud, rain, and technical forests. Robin led from lap one. He read the corners, trusted his tires like a BMX racer, and crossed the line overflowing with joy and energy.

“I really enjoy muddy tracks—because I can think ahead and trust my bike,” he says. And trust, in racing, is everything.
Where MTB Meets BMX: A Secret Advantage

BMX gave Robin something rare: corner speed, balance, explosive power, and—most importantly—courage.

Many riders hesitate at fast corners.

Robin accelerates. His confidence in bike handling—born from skate parks and pump tracks—translated into an MTB strength few could match.

“I trust the grip. I trust the bike. I just go.”

More Than a Rider. A Purpose in Motion.

Robin trains 3 times a week with CFC—but that’s only the start. After morning sessions, he heads back to the forest with friends, building jumps and testing lines until sunset. And now, a new pump track is being built near his home, and he cannot wait.

He dreams not just of better results—but of better equipment. A proper race-fit XS/S full suspension frame. Carbon wheels. Shimano Di2 wireless shifting. The tools that match his talent, speed, and ambition.

But more than anything…
He dreams of giving back.

“If someone helped me build my new bike, I’d help other kids—teach them, support them, and show them they don’t have to give up.”

That’s not just cycling.

That’s Pedal With Purpose.

Pedal With Purpose: Why It Matters

In Robin’s own words:

“Pedal With Purpose gives kids a chance to follow their dreams. It shows that we  don’t have to give up just because things are hard.”

It’s not about the bike. It’s about belief. About community. About turning challenges into chapters of success.

Robin is only 10. But he’s already proving that purpose is more powerful than gear. And that sometimes—the kid on the M-size frame is the one leading the race.

This is not just a story about a boy and his Silverback SESTA Pro.

This is a story about flying. And the next jump? He’s just getting started.
