Brake pads are one of the most safety-critical consumables on your bike. Whether you're descending a steep trail on your mountain bike, commuting on your e-bike, or pushing the pace on a S-Electro, fresh brake pads are the difference between confident, controlled braking and dangerously reduced stopping power. This collection covers disc and rim brake pads from trusted brands including Shimano and Magura — compatible with a wide range of Silverback bikes and groupsets.
Choosing the right brake pad compound is as important as choosing the right pad model. The two main types are:
Resin pads are quieter, gentler on rotors, and offer excellent modulation — making them ideal for cross-country riding, commuting, and lighter trail use. They perform well in dry conditions but wear faster than metallic pads and can fade under sustained heavy braking. Compatible with most Shimano groupsets including Deore, SLX, and Alfine.
Metallic pads last longer, handle heat better, and maintain consistent performance in wet and muddy conditions — making them the preferred choice for enduro, e-bike, and all-weather riding. They run slightly louder and require a bedding-in period, but deliver superior stopping power under demanding conditions. Essential for heavier e-bike use where motor-assisted speeds put greater demands on the braking system.
Our Shimano brake pad range covers the most popular MTB and e-bike groupsets:
For bikes running Magura hydraulic rim brakes, we stock the Magura HS11 & HS33 brake pads — a direct replacement for Magura's legendary hydraulic rim brake systems, widely used on older MTB and urban bikes.
Keep your full drivetrain in top condition alongside your brakes — browse our chains and cassettes, derailleur hangers, and complete MTB parts and accessories range. Complete your setup with a saddle upgrade, bike computer, or bike lock for your next ride.
