The S-Electro Metro is the ultimate electric assist commuter hybrid. The Metro is a minimalist take on a capable and practical commuter. Stripped of superfluous appendices, the Metro can be locked up outside your office or a shop, or taken on a train. A suspension fork adds comfort when you're navigating the urban jungle, and the Shimano E7000 motor has plenty of torque to tackle the hills.

TECHNISCHE HIGHLIGHTS

SHIMANO ELECTRIC DRIVE SYSTEM

S-Electro Metro is designed around the Shimano Steps E7000 electric assist motor and is powered by a sizable 504Wh internal battery. The Steps motor has plenty of range 30 - 100km depending on your level of assist and terrain, and recharges to 80% in 3 hours.

FRAME DESIGN

Metro features a S-Electro engineered hydroformed alloy frame. The battery and all cables are internal, and the motor mount is neatly integrated. Hydroforming is a process where thinwall alloy tubing gets molded into complex shapes by internal pressurized water and or oil - this creates stronger tubing resulting in lighter, stronger frames.

SUSPENSION FORK

Metro is fitted with an SR Suntour NEX HLO DS 700, 63mm suspension fork with Hydraulic Lockout. This is a lightweight suspension fork that adds comfort to your daily commute.

COMPONENT CHOICES

Reliability and durability for commuting bikes are essential. For that reason, S-Electro Metro has been fitted with a Shimano 10 speed drivetrain. This simplistic Deore drivetrain needs less maintenance than an 11 or 12 speed drivetrain and is known for quality shifting.

HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKES

Shimano Deore BL T6000 hydraulic disc brakes takes care of quick stopping in traffic. Good modulation and solid braking performance are at the heart of Shimano brakes.

INTERNAL REMOVABLE BATTERY

The internal battery located in the downtube is locked for safety, but also removable to replace, or to charge off the bike.

RACK AND FENDER MOUNTS

Purebred commuter, the Metro has rack and fender mounts and when you order on Speedlab, you can have the fenders pre-installed.

700C WHEELS

The Surface symmetrical alloy wheels and Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres with SmartGuard used on the Metro are chosen for low rolling resistance, decent on-road grip and also durability when used in urban environments.

Can I upgrade the battery to a 730Wh unit in my S-Electro Metro?

No you can not fit a 730Wh battery in the frame. The 504Wh unit will give you plenty of range for commuting.
Can I put drop handlebars on the Metro?

You can, but your brakes and shifters will not be a straight fit. Consider this before buying drop handlebars.
Can I fit a suspension seatpost?

Yes you can. They are available on the Speedlab shop.
I know Shimano gears, but not their electric motors. Are they good?

Yes, without a doubt. Shimano makes some of the best and most advanced electric motors on the eBicycle market today.
Can I fit a kickstand to the S-Electro Metro frame?

Yes, the S-Electro Metro is compatible with 40mm kickstands. Check out the Speedlab Kickstand CL-KA100.
How many assistance modes doe the S-Electro Metro have?

The S-Electro Metro has 3 assistance modes.
Can I tune my S-Electro Metro to increase the power-assist speed limit?

Due to strict regulations governing e-bikes, it is neither allowed nor recommended to alter the speed.

Where can I find serial number of the E bike?
By all S-electro Diamond Trail, S-electro Diamond Stepdown, S-electro Diamond fat, S-electro Diamond Comp models please tell that the serial number of the frame is located under the black cover, one needs to unscrew 2 screws in order to take it down to see the frame number. For the S-electro Stepdown, S-electro Comp SL, S-electro Elite AL 2 (630Wh) models the frame number is located on the side of the side of the frame around the motor.
Can I customize my Shimano display to another language or change other settings?
Yes, you need to download E TUBE app and configure the settings. SEE HERE
